are an additional reason to visit this region. Many famous artists, such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Brunelleschi and Botticelli have let their traces behind here and created works of art, that are beyond compare. The delicious Tuscan cuisine and a good glass of wine from the region provide for delightful culinary experiences. Tuscany does not just mean Florence. There is also Siena, with its beautiful square, Piazza del Campo, on which the famous horserace takes place each summer. Montepulciano and Pienza are splendid gems of the Renaissance and San Gimignano impresses with its famous towers and high houses from the Middle Ages. Pisa is known for its leaning tower and Carrara for its cathedral clothed in noble marble.
